The Professional Diploma in the English Law of Contract is a brand new practical and interactive post-graduate executive course designed for legal practitioners and risk professionals in an international business environment. English Law is often selected as the applicable law when trading with a number of jurisdictions in the British Commonwealth and Asia, the Pacific, Europe, the CIS and globally – even in the Americas. Hence, its importance is not limited to the UK.
This course aims to give the busy legal practitioner, judicial officer, regulator, diplomatic and government, trade and logistics, consulting, finance, insurance or industry professional or chief a practical working knowledge of the law of contract of England as determined by the Commercial Court and other trial and appellate courts in England and the British Commonwealth.
If there were one body of law to choose to study for global management and legal practice, the English Law of Contract might well be it: English law is used and is useful, with some recognizable and discernible variation, in the states and federal courts of the Australian Federation, in New Zealand, in the Caribbean jurisdictions, in the Pacific, and in busy Asian jurisdictions such as Hong Kong and Singapore – as well as by parties to private dispute resolution mechanisms throughout Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific.
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates will be able to:
