EU Careers Preparation Course is an innovative course designed for university graduates or final year Masters students who intend to develop their career in the EU institutions. The course is designed as a preparation for the European Personnel Selection Office’s (EPSO) selection procedures for AD Generalists and AD Specialists.
The course is complementary to the preparatory course organised by Charles University in Prague. Each course is divided into two modules. Both courses (the UK course and the VŠE course) together form a comprehensive preparation that will prepare candidates for selection procedures on their way to a career in the EU.
Knowledge of EU staff regulations, the selection procedure system, and the functioning of EU institutions
Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities necessary for competency tests
Improving oral and written communication skills in areas related to the EU, which is a ticket to a career in the EU
Teamwork skills and ability to work under time pressure
Graduates receive individualized feedback and advice from experts in the field
Given the two types of selection procedures (generalist and specialist), the course is intended for university graduates from various fields. General selection procedures (generalist) are open to all university graduates (a degree in a field related to the EU is an advantage). For specialized positions, technology specialists (IT, cybernetics, data analytics), graduates in natural sciences (energy, environment, and climate), creative disciplines (digital content creation, social networks), graduates in social sciences (law, political science), economics and finance, or language disciplines (all official EU languages) are invited to apply.
A university degree is not required for assistant positions, but sufficient experience in the field is essential.
